OSCAR Fund Awareness

The OSCAR fund was created by the Van Isle Veterinary Hospital in Courtenay, BC who is one of our sister clinics, in honor of their very own clinic cat Oscar. OSCAR stands for Offering Subsidized Care for Animal Recovery, and was launched in 2012. The reason that the Van Isle team created the fund was because their Oscar always had a special gift of knowing when a little compassion was needed for both owners and pets. You see, Oscar was adopted by the Van Isle team in 2002 from their local SPCA and was given a second chance by this veterinary team.

“Oscar passed in November of 2013 but his memory lives on as a representative of all the animals out there looking to be rescued and brought into a loving forever home.” Each individual Vet Strategy clinic is in charge of managing the OSCAR fund and is used for helping our own clients when their pets are in need of medical care and cannot financially support it.

We as a team like to do a few fundraisers every year to raise funds for OSCAR offered at our hospital. Join us for our next fundraiser on Saturday December 12th from 10am- 4pm at the Baxter Animal Hospital for Pet Pictures with Santa. Each picture is 10$ and is even printed on site for you! You can check out our event on Facebook on our Baxter Animal Hospital page (Events- Pictures with Santa). We hope to get as good of a turn out this year as we did last year!
